GameFest went swimmingly this year. Our game, Zephyr, the culmination of months of work, attracted a lot of attention and gathered high praise from participants. Zephyr is now available for free in the Google Play Store...get it here!
My custom couple games have now been launched as "GameBouquet". I will be looking to advertise my venture on indie game sites shortly. In the meantime, tell your attached friends...I'm looking to get the word out any way I can!
Ever since creating Matthew and Jessica's Curious Adventure on Valentine's Day, I have been approached by other couples who wanted special ports of the game to celebrate their own relationships. So I happily built them and sold these games to them. These games are called The Romantic Saga of Devon and Dalton and The Adventures of Catfish and Turtle. Today, I am announcing that this service is now available to anyone for purchase. Give me some details about you and your significant other, and I'll create a small platform game describing your love. Your game can look any way you want, it can be easy or hard, I can add a custom plot, special enemies or hazards, I can compose special background music and sounds...and of course, the game will celebrate you and your relationship. It's a sweet, original gift suitable for birthdays, anniversaries, or just any time you want to remind your special someone of your love.
Contact me if you're interested. This short platformer was designed as a spur-of-the-moment Valentine's Day present for my girlfriend. I'm releasing it through this site for anyone who is interested...it's absolutely free. The goal of the game is simple...control both Matthew and Jessica, help them work together to traverse the level, and make sure they're within sight of each other or they'll get lonely!
Well, here I am in my eighth and final semester at RPI, and my schedule is packed with game design courses. Which means that, come a few months, I'll have a bunch of new Chapman Games available for everyone! In particular, keep on the lookout for a Portal 2 level pack...
My new video game, Scorequest, is now available to download!
This is an action-packed platform game which doubles as a musical instrument. As you play the game, you will also be playing a piece of music that you make up as you go. Choose from three characters, four time signature modes, and thirty levels, each of a different key and increasing in difficulty. Try out Scorequest today! It's been a long time since I posted anything about Scorequest.
A few new features have been added (such as time signatures), and I have also made a few tweaks to the structure of the level system. I also showed off the game at the annual Rensselaer Game Showcase, where it was bundled into a collection for charity. Scorequest is basically done now, but I want to wait until I have presented it as my Music and Sound project before I release it publicly. In the meantime, rest assured that it IS coming soon. With the release of Scorequest drawing near, I present three screenshots! This should give you an idea of the game's graphics and genre. Keep your eye out for more information on this new Chapman Game!
I am pleased to announce that a fourth game, Scorequest, is going to be added to the Chapman Games roster shortly. As of today, the primary level design is complete, although there are a couple of additional features to add and bugs to work out (amazingly, the engine I'm using doesn't allow objects to have hitboxes, so I'm forced to use some inconvenient work-arounds to simulate them). Can't give a specific release date, but it won't be long now...I'd say within a few weeks.
Scorequest is a game I have been developing as a final project for my Intro to Music and Sound class. I'm not yet at liberty to reveal a huge amount of detail, but it's essentially a platformer that allows you to procedurally generate music while you play. You can save and play back any composition you create in the process...provided that you can complete the level without dying. You will be able to download Scorequest for 99¢. Of course, prospective employers looking for a showcase of my work will be entitled to free copies; just contact me and I will give you a direct download link. I'm very much looking forward to releasing this game...it's been fun developing it! |
